Task at hand: Design a logo for a company that builds beautiful custom homes, as well as top notch renovations.

How did we get here? Mike Coomer (The owner of Rosewood) approached me after working with another company who was not understanding what he wanted as an identity for his brand. We sat down and he explained to me that he wanted a strong and bold logo, but also to have it as clean and tasteful as the homes he was building. I knew immediately what I wanted to do so I roughed out a quick idea and got an immediate, “YES! GO WITH THAT!” back from him. I used a strong and bold capital “R” in a serif font to convey a bit of class, and then put an actual illustrated version of a rosewood tree intertwined in the “R” itself using a little linework to put some depth and movement from the trunk into the branches. It conveys boldness, beauty, elegance and strength. Each of these things Mike is very passionate about. You can view their website here.
