MYR at The Ritz

Here is the logo in full effect. The house light person puts random backgrounds behind all of the artists’ logos, but you can see from the picture that the logo is super clear and readable. I am very happy to continue my partnership with MYR and I can not wait to start desigining his merchandise.

Task at hand: Create a new logo for MYR to use on his screens at concerts, as well as all of his social media and marketing collateral.

How did we get here? MYR came to me and wanted his last name “Meyer” turned into a sharp minimal logo featuring a scythe. Through creating problem solving, communication, and a bunch of quick sketches, I decided to turn the wavy shape of the “Y” in his name into the handle of the scythe, and then use just the outline to draw your eye to scythe blade after reading the bold “MYR”. After my initial sketch and our following conversation, this is what the end result was.

I love using line weights to add depth and movement to a logo so your eyes naturally get led around the entirely of the image.
